Iroha
Last time I introduced the hiragana table.
HIRAGANA CHART

This time I will introduce how to read and pronounce letters.

Tina
Yes. But there were 46 hiragana. It's hard to remember.

Right. There are certainly a lot of characters. But if you know the trick, you can learn it easily.

I see. What's the trick?

It's about remembering the table in a five-letter set.

What do you mean? I still can't understand it well.

Look at the table below. This is a summary of how to pronounce hiragana, but do you realize that there is a law?
PRONOUNCE CHART

The top row contains all "A" ?

Right.
The first stage is "□+A",
the second stage is "□+I",
the third stage is "□+U",
the fourth stage is "□+E",
and the fifth stage is "□+O".
The first stage is "□+A",

and the fifth stage is "□+O".

It's true. It's easier to remember if we know this.

So if you only remember the letters in ” □ ", you'll be able to pronounce five hiragana.

Five? You said a five-letter set a while ago.

Exactly. You just have to memorize the five vertical characters in this table.

This way of thinking is something that all Japanese people know, and it is named A-column(あ行), KA-column(か行), SA-column(さ行) ・・・.

I see !
That's all for today's lesson. Thank you for your hard work.
